Phillips Auction House is gearing up for its New York Jewelry Auction, with a standout item—a vivid yellow diamond—estimated to sell for between $2.8 million and $3.5 million. Weighing just over 45 carats, this unique diamond features a step-cut facet design.
The auction will take place at Phillips' headquarters at 432 Park Avenue in Manhattan, where 125 items will be up for bid. The collection includes an impressive array of colored diamonds, gemstones, antique jewelry, and pieces from renowned brands like Van Cleef & Arpels, Cartier, and Bulgari.
"We are thrilled to present such a strong selection of jewelry in our upcoming New York sale, following the success of our second sale in Geneva," said Eva Violante, head of jewelry at Phillips Americas, in a statement. "The demand for extraordinary jewels and gems spanning centuries is clearly there, evidenced by the strong results in Geneva and Hong Kong, as well as the global excitement we’ve seen during our international exhibitions. From an important 45-carat yellow diamond to a Cartier 'Méandres-Bavoir' diamond necklace from 1953, we are proud to offer collectors such a stunning range of jewels that represent the finest in the category."
Other notable items at the upcoming New York auction include a 4-carat vivid green diamond with an estimated value of up to $350,000, and a striking Cartier diamond ring featuring a 3.07-carat pear-shaped fancy light blue stone, expected to sell for between $200,000 and $300,000.
