Louisiana-based jewelry industry supplier, Stuller, has long been a go-to for retailers, offering everything from finished jewelry and accessories to packaging, displays, tools, and technology. Each year, Stuller’s booth at the JCK Jewelry Show draws attention with its displays, products, and demonstrations, showcasing new trends and innovations. In 2023, the focus was on lab-grown diamonds, popular turquoise jewelry, the latest engagement rings, and the advanced 3D CAD software program, MatrixGold, powered by Gemvision.
Eight months later, Stuller is back with more updates on tools and technologies that retailers should consider in the latter half of this year. Chris Leonard, Director of Tools at Stuller, shared insights into what’s trending now:
1. Ogitech DiaTrue Crystal Screener
The exclusive Ogitech DiaTrue Crystal Screener, available only through Stuller, features automatic detection technology that delivers clear and accurate results in seconds. Designed to screen diamonds ranging from ultra-small (as small as 0.02 mm) to large, irregularly shaped stones, this screener offers a large scanning area and special trays to adjust focus. It can screen everything from loose diamonds to watches and jewelry, detecting synthetic diamonds grown via HPHT (High-Pressure High Temperature) or CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition) methods, as well as diamond simulants like cubic zirconia (CZ) and moissanite.
2. Sunstone Orion PJ Pulse Arc Welder
The Orion PJ Pulse Arc Welder is a must-have for the booming permanent jewelry trend. Designed specifically for permanent jewelry artists, this welder features smart energy control, extended cable length, and cable management, making it perfect for remote settings like pop-up shops. Capable of handling delicate chains and high-energy projects alike, the Orion PJ’s smart energy control allows users to adjust energy levels in half-joule increments. Note: the welder requires argon gas to operate.
3. Open Grow SureCast Resin
SureCast is a wax-based photopolymer resin known for its efficiency and ease of use in direct casting 3D printing. Exclusive to Stuller, this resin, identifiable by its deep mustard yellow color, is compatible with most open-source platforms. Leonard describes it as an "industry-leading material for customers seeking perfect details and superior castability," highlighting that it requires no curing time.
These innovations are tailored to help jewelry retailers stay ahead in a competitive market, offering advanced solutions for screening, welding, and casting.
