Recently, the China Quality Certification Center (CQC), in collaboration with several international technical organizations and enterprises, announced the establishment of the International Carbon Accounting and Verification Council (ICAVC) at an inaugural ceremony held in Beijing.
The ICAVC was jointly founded by CQC along with TÜV SÜD Certification and Testing (China) Co., Ltd., DNV Business Assurance China Co., Ltd., the Korean Foundation for Quality, SCS Global Services, China National Aviation Holding Corporation, China Green Development Investment Group Co., Ltd., State Power Investment Corporation Integrated Smart Energy Co., Ltd., Chint Group R&D Center (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Daikin Air Conditioning (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., and the China-Britain Carbon Governance Committee of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade in the construction industry.
The council aims to foster progress in carbon accounting and verification technologies and business development by organizing technical exchanges, project collaborations, specialized research, standard formulation, and the dissemination of results, both domestically and internationally. The ICAVC also strives to advance multilateral recognition of carbon accounting and verification results as well as international recognition of supply chain carbon footprints, thus contributing to the development of the international carbon market and the establishment of a global green low-carbon supply chain.
Moving forward, the China Quality Certification Center, together with relevant institutions, will work to improve carbon emissions accounting and verification mechanisms, promote the construction of the international carbon market, and accelerate the development of a global green low-carbon supply chain, contributing to efforts to address climate change.
