The Manufacturing Jewelers & Suppliers of America (MJSA) has announced the election of Edward N. DeCristofaro, president of Providence-based LDC, as the new chair of its board of directors. DeCristofaro, a seasoned veteran of the jewelry industry, previously served as MJSA chair from 2012 to 2014 and has remained an active leader on the board since then.
A Lifetime in Jewelry Manufacturing
DeCristofaro’s journey in the jewelry industry began at just 17 years old, shortly after his father, Lawrence, founded LDC. Over the years, Edward contributed significantly to the company’s success, including:
- Designing and building many of LDC’s proprietary machines and tools.
- Becoming the sole owner of the firm in 2003.
Beyond his work at LDC, DeCristofaro has held leadership roles across the industry, including:
- Past president of the Providence Jewelers Club.
- Board member of the Jewelers Board of Trade.
- Member of the 24 Karat Club of New York City and the Boston Jewelers Club.
Supporting Education and Future Leaders
Joseph Esposito, MJSA’s outgoing chair, will now lead the MJSA Education Foundation, a subsidiary dedicated to supporting career and training initiatives for students and professionals in the jewelry industry. Esposito is also the executive vice president of National Chain Group in Warwick, Rhode Island.
