Tiffany & Co. and the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) have announced 10 finalists for the inaugural Tiffany & Co. x CFDA Jewelry Designer Award. This award includes a yearlong fellowship at Tiffany’s design department and a $50,000 prize, aiming to foster inclusivity in the jewelry industry. The finalists—Symoné Currie, Ian Delucca, Marvin Linares, Angie Marei, Malyia McNaughton, Jameel Mohammed, David Perry, Maggi Simpkins, Hi Vu, and Pamela Zamore—will be judged based on a design challenge crafted by Tiffany’s team to inspire creativity and innovation.
Earlier this month, the finalists participated in a three-day orientation in New York, featuring lectures, workshops, and tours of Tiffany’s Fifth Avenue flagship and innovation center. The award winner will be announced in early 2025, with the fellowship beginning in February.
Finalist Malyia McNaughton shared her excitement about the opportunity, citing her admiration for Tiffany and designer Elsa Peretti. She noted the potential impact of this platform in expanding the visibility of her work and pushing her creative boundaries. The application process involved submitting a résumé, portfolio, and showcasing skills in design experience, concept development, and 3D CAD rendering.
