Brazilian fine jewelry brand Sauer has made a bold move by opening its first international flagship store in the heart of New York City. Located at 800 Madison Avenue on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, the boutique reflects Sauer’s commitment to blending Brazilian heritage with modern luxury.
A Jewel in New York’s Crown
The store, designed like an art gallery, spans 1,000 square feet across two floors, showcasing Sauer’s exquisite pieces like treasured masterpieces. Its Art Deco–style windows nod to Manhattan’s iconic architecture, while the Jacaranda-wood furniture and cubist Cobogo panels celebrate Brazilian modernism. The colors and textures evoke Brazil’s natural landscapes, creating an atmosphere of discovery and elegance.
“New York’s dynamic energy and appreciation for artistry resonate deeply with our brand’s heritage,” says Gabriel Andre Sauer, co-CEO and a third-generation member of the family-owned brand.
Celebrating a Legacy of Bold Design
Founded in 1941 by Jules Sauer, who discovered Brazil’s first recorded emerald, the company is renowned for its bold designs and commitment to metaphysical symbolism. The new store features a private salon on the upper floor for custom-design meetings and an exhibition space displaying rare gems from the Sauer family’s personal collection, previously housed in a museum in Rio de Janeiro.
“Our legacy is rooted in more than just the gems themselves; it is about the stories they tell and the meticulous care that goes into transforming them into works of art,” Gabriel Andre Sauer explains.
Introducing the Madison Avenue Collection
To celebrate the opening, Sauer debuted its Madison Avenue collection, which pays homage to art, nature, and spirituality. Highlights include:
- The Suzanne necklace, featuring a stunning 19-carat diamond.
- The Paisley earrings, combining emeralds, diamonds, and malachite.
Also on display is the latest Ethos collection, a masterpiece of contemporary jewelry that uses emeralds, tourmaline, diamonds, and lapis to create pieces that appear to shift shapes.
“Walking into the store should feel like stepping into a world of discovery—a journey through Brazil’s vibrant culture, natural beauty, and unparalleled craftsmanship,” says Stephanie Wenk, Sauer’s creative director.
Sauer’s Madison Avenue boutique is not just a store; it’s an immersive experience that bridges the worlds of high jewelry and art, offering New Yorkers a taste of Brazilian excellence.
